Just For You
This series of Beginning Readers contains stories that will appeal to all kids such as taking a bath, friendship, doing chores and spending time with family. The protagonists are African American. They are very popular in our library, as kids and parents like to have characters in the books who look like they do. There are several different authors and illustrators for the series. Each book includes a brief biography and picture of the author and the illustrator.
The series has three levels of difficulty: K- Grade1, Grade1 and Grade 2. The easiest level has plenty of repetition and picture clues for the beginning reader. At the end of each book there are extension activities for families. The beginning of each book also has tips for families to read the book together.
The Just For You series is a well-liked item at our library.
